Community Bridges HOME TBRA Program
HOM contracts with Community Bridges to provide Tenant Based Rental Assistance (TBRA) in Mesa for 15 vulnerable individuals and families utilizing City of Mesa HOME Funds.
Participants secure dwelling units in the community that meet Housing Quality Standards (HQS) and whose rents are determined to be reasonable in comparison to similar units that do not receive assistance. Participants contribute 30% of their adjusted monthly income towards the cost of their rent and utilities. The program utilizes the HUD-published Fair Market Rents (FMR) as the payment standard for calculating subsidy for the household. The HOME TBRA Program has a 24 month assistance limit.
Each participant in the program receives supportive services from a Community Bridges Navigator. Navigators provide critical assistance to vulnerable individuals and families that experience significant barriers to stability. The Community Bridges Navigator assists participants to find employment, apply for benefits, receive medical care, and prepare to maintain stable housing after 24 month assistance. Navigators provide the necessary support and intervention for program participants to assist them in successfully living and integrating into their community.
