Freddy joined HOM, Inc., as a Housing Inspector in January 2015.
Freddy is a native Arizonan, born and raised in Mesa, AZ. His background in affordable housing includes stints in both the public and private sectors, starting in 2002 at the City of Tempe’s Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program where he was an HQS Inspector. He then spent six years at the Arizona Department of Housing as a Compliance Officer (Auditor II) where he monitored affordable rental projects’ compliance with state and federal regulations; including the Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program, HOME program, Housing Trust Funds, and other funding sources. Freddy then used his skills at a local property management firm as an internal compliance officer where he had the opportunity to work on the projects funded with the Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP). He later went on to work for himself, providing compliance monitoring for affordable housing management firms and their projects outside of Arizona.
Fun fact: Freddy was the trainer for the Chicago, Illinois Toll Booth Authority, from a Scottsdale, Arizona satellite location 15 years ago where he trained the toll booth authority on electronic imaging software that is now in use for license plate imaging.
Freddy is grateful to have the opportunity to continue his career in public service in Arizona at HOM, Inc.
